This paper gives brief overview of historical development of understanding of origin and nature of giftedness. Several various approaches to phenomenon of giftedness have been developed since the beginning of giftedness studying. It ranges from mystical belief in “supernatural divine origin”, through psychodynamic, where giftedness is a result of tension between conscientious and subconscious, then cognitive, which consider it as a part of mind, to modern view which points to the importance of particular personality traits, creative processes as well as way of creation of creative products, but also environment where individual live and act. The aim is to present the way science and technology change, even radically, the view and approach to almost all shapes of human creation and conscience, as well as in understanding the giftedness.
