Abstract

The rapid development of computer science and information technology has been a consequence of the exponential development of hardware and software as well as the increase of the availability to the Internet access. The above-mentioned development of computer science and information technology is quickly changing social structure and social positions. Not regarding the degree of the development of the technological infrastructure nor its availability, the individual himself, will not be able to exploit that potential unless he knows how to use computer devices, which requires a certain level of being educated in the field of information technology. As it has been envisaged by some experts, the need for such education will be greater day in and day out and will affect all segments of society. Being aware of the importance of education in this field, many countries have developed new standards with the aim to define the curricula and programs in the field of computer science and information technology. Regarding the fact that we have been living in The Information Age, of which the main role data together with mobile communication systems and the Internet have, it is reasonable enough that the basis of the curriculum and programs in most countries is based on data, the use of the Internet and application softwares. The main aim of this paper is the comparative study of curricula's compatibility in the field of information technology of grammar schools in the Republic of Srpska and contrasting them to the ones in Japan. Our goal has been to show the potential of the transfer of knowledge from one educational system to another.
