Abstract

Educational software (ORS) as a model of active learning is a highly successful form of individualization and differentiation in teaching Science and Society. This paper presents the results of a research aimed to examine the attitudes and opinions of teachers on the application of ORS in the teaching science and society, the ability of teachers to use it and the difficulties that impede its implementation as a model of active learning and successful individualization of teaching science and society. The paper also discusses the current situation, based on which they could define the next steps for the improvement of teaching science and society.After130 teachers have been surveyed the findings indicate that teachers rarely apply ORS in teaching Science and Society, although such work affects the quality of work and students motivation. One reason for this lies in the fact that schools are under-equipped with technical resources (especially ORS) but there is also a lack of prior knowledge and experience of teachers in the planning, organization and implementation of this kind of teaching.
