The affective side of foreign language learning has been neglected in English language teaching in primary schools. Focusing on the affective aspects may lead to the more efficient language acquisition. When it comes to the affective side we need to solve the problems occured as the consequence of negative emotions and to create and use positive and beneficial emotions. When there are negative emotional influences such as anxiety, fear, pressure, anger or depression, optimal learning potential is being substantially diminished. Encouraging of various positive emotional factors such as self-confidence, sympathy and motivation can significantly enhance and improve the process of foreign language learning. The use of humanistic techniques in English language teaching helps in dealing with many classroom problems, particulary with motivation and discipline.
