Abstract

The aqueous primrose, Water Violet, frog lily of the family Primulaceae, extremely compromised taxon, was identified in the area of the bog in Gromiželj Velino Selo near Bijeljina. Entire area flood zone swamps are covered with the terrestrial perennial herb with creeping roots. Water Violet is a very important indicator species of wetland vegetation. Hottonia palustris be under the immediate protection of the swamp Gromiželj because it is already in Serbia extremely endangered taxon (CR) in Bulgaria has disappeared (EX), in Slovenia, Italy, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the category of vulnerable (VU), and in Hungary rare (R) taxa.

Hottonia palustris flora RS was first registered in December 2008 in Laketić source in Gromiželj. Is on the Preliminary Red List of BiH, as a vulnerable species according to the IUCN categorization. You must start the procedure of registration of this species for the flora of the Republic of Srpska.
