Abstract

The most significant discovery in November 200. in a swamp at the site Gromiželj Laketić source is very rare fish Umbra krameri, known popularly as the minders or brunette. This small fish length of 10-12 cm inhabits slow and standing waters of Eurasia. Is usually related to a muddy bottom where the danger of drying out in the buried into the slurry.

Umbra krameri is extremely endangered species in all habitats in which they live. In Laketić source where it is detected and determined is represented by a large number of specimens, which indicates that the number of the populations at the site to great extent in relation to the number of the populations in the special nature reserve "Zasavica" in Serbia.

Finding Umbra krameri on site Laketić source in the swamp Gromiželj is so far the only proven habitat of this species in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. To date, these wetlands was given the status of previous protection of the first degree.

Umbra krameri is on the red list of IUCN protection category VU (vulnerable).
