Abstract

The folk dances of Kosovo and Metohija are very important activities in accomplishing the objectives of the physical education curriculum as well asin science teaching. The awareness about the importance of these contents in achieving the objectives and tasks in teaching processis significant, both in terms of preserving the folk traditions of its people, as well as to respect the traditions of other nations.

The aim of theresearch was to determine the attitudes of students Teacher training faculty in Prizren - Leposavić (Republic of Serbia) about the contribution of folk dances from Kosovo and Metohija in achieving the objectives and tasks in physical education and science teaching, depending on the success during their studies and domicile. Based on the results, there is a conclusion that the awareness of students about the contribution of folk dances is very high, and that there is no significant difference in attitudes depending on their domicile and average grades during their studies.

The research was conducted with third year students in the second half of 2016, on a sample of 91 students. Data collected by scaler Nikmah-OCZMNFVU, α = 0.901, were analyzed by analysis of variance and the Mann-Whitney U test.
