THE DIFFERENCES IN THE STATUS OF THE ARCH OF THE FOOT BETWEEN GIRLS AND BOYS OF PRESCHOOL AGE FROM BIJELJINA

Foot deformities pose a health challenge of the 21st century, since a high percentage of preschool and early school age have some of the deformities of the foot, which is the most common, with sloping instep. The survey was conducted in order to examine the differences in the status of the arch of the foot in preschool children, from Bijeljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Transversal study included 50 subjects divided into two subgroups. One sub-sample consisted of boys and 25 of them, and another subsample was composed of girls, their 25. At the time of measurement, all children attending Preschool institution "Čika Jova Zmaj" from Bijeljina. To measure the status of the suspended arch of the foot, the most advanced computer implemented method for the detection of flat feet, a digital recording of a computer. Based on the obtained values in this study, it is noted that most of the analyzed children have lowered the instep. The projection of the results will enable better understanding and analysis of the existing problems in the analyzed pre-school, in order to give concrete proposals for the prevention or correction of deformities in the future.
