Abstract

This work has been produced out of the need to closely explain and enlighten the complex problem of domestic violence and possible pedagogical implications of the nurturing function of a family. The context in which the violence has been noted is not clear enough as well as the dangers of its possible consequences. The idea itself has been supported by the empirical data that have been collected with the purpose of updating and completing discoveries in this area. We also want to compare them with the existing claims of other authors and to connect them with some actual theses in modern pedagogical theory. Through the review of the known empirical facts about families in our surroundings, we will attempt to answer the question of what impact violence and abuse has on the development of marital and family relations, on the child behaviour toward other people in the environment and on the personal growth. We assume these areas to be essential when it comes to the influence of violence on the inner power of family relations.
