Abstract

This essay deals with modern concepts of education and schools as theoretical premises of European concept of education. Education is a subsystem of a social system which expands in space and time of globalization. There is no valid concept, no idea or paradigm about the role of school today and the real goals of education. The aim of European concept of education is to homogenize national systems of education for the purpose of better and more equal education of ``European workforce``. European concept of education neglects humanistic dimension of education, reducing it to its economic and functional dimension. In countries with the process of transition that already accepted Bolonja concept of education it should be useful to hear some critics of that project.
