FORMATIVE CHECKING ON FACULTIES IN THE LIGHT OF REFORM OF HIGHER EDUCATION OF STUDENTS

Testing student achievements is one of the basic functions of each higher education institution. Evaluation is a summarized statement of certain achievements expressed by a particular symbol. In the structure of the newly established higher education system ("the Bologna process"), one of the fundamental changes is the reduction of teaching subjects to one semester. The idea is to focus from content on achieving learning goals and creating knowledge structures with a significant impact on the lifelong learning system. The basic idea of this paper was to find out how to formally test student achievements in the context of the obligations arising from systematic documents (Law on Higher Education, study rules, curriculum structure, silabus structure, recommendations of the European Commission in the field of higher education.) We examined the way teachers do formative checking, analyzing the frequency, and their impact on the final achievement. We conducted the research as a case study at the Faculty of Education in Bijeljina. The results of the resarch have shown that there is a significant deviation of the prescribed obligations in terms of checking the achievements of the realized ones.Also, there is a significant difference in the value of the activities of the family, even in related subjects. There are also cases without a final exam in which pre-examination obligations are converted into a final grade. A significant range of points that can be gained during the teaching process is significant. All of the above said points to the need to train teachers for applying the system of checking and evaluating student achievement in accordance with the proclaimed ideas and standards of education in the European Union.
