Abstract

The teaching of literature at the university has a number of specifics and often poses a challenge for professors who want to bring abstract teaching units closer to students, but also for students who have to master texts and materials that are not close to them considering time and topics. In this work we will focus on several key aspects of teaching literature in higher education. At the beginning, I will look at the basic ideas in giving lectures in literature, how to prepare and motivate students for literary contents, and then how to create a positive atmosphere in the classroom. I am also going to revise developing strategies and creating syllabus. In the final part of the work, I will try to show practical experiences and how literature teaching has gained a completely different dimension by implementing contemporary strategies for teaching and learning literature in the 21st century.
